Windows 11 currently has 400 million users and is expected to reach 500 million by early next year, according to Zac Bowden of Windows Central.
Comparison between the user populations of Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Windows was first launched in October 2021 and it took two years to reach 400 million users, a growth rate that is notably slower compared to Windows 10, which achieved the same milestone in a little over a year.
Windows 10 was launched in July 2015 and had more than 400 million users by the end of 2016. By early 2020, the operating system had reached 1 billion users. It’s important to consider that Windows 10 was initially a free upgrade for Windows 8.1 and most Windows 7 devices.
Windows 11 compatibility is an important factor to think about, as the operating system has strict requirements for older devices, only supporting PCs made from 2018 onwards. The main requirement is the presence of a TPM module. Despite the challenges, Windows 11’s success reportedly surpassed Microsoft’s expectations according to sources from Windows Central.
