The most recent Microsoft Teams update enhanced the app, doubling its speed, cutting RAM usage by 50%, and reducing storage space on computers by 70%. Sérgio Gatlán from Bleeping Computer reported that this notable enhancement was rolled out to all Windows and macOS users starting on October 5th.
Teams operates at double the speed while using less memory.

The latest edition of Microsoft Teams has been in trial since March, with developers striving to enhance the app’s functionality and performance.
The update not only improves performance, reduces memory usage, and decreases size, but also introduces new features such as custom business line applications, third-party applications, video display, call queues, PSTN calls, contextual search in chats, cross-posting of channel conversations, and more, as reported by a Windows developer.

Microsoft Teams product manager Anupam Pattnaik describes the latest application update as:
We prioritize delivering top-notch performance and enhancing fundamental aspects like reliability, security, and IT management to ensure that the new Teams align with your organization’s changing needs.
New features and enhancements will only be accessible in the updated Teams version, which is now widely available. This version supports multi-tenant organizations and enables seamless communication and collaboration across different tenants and accounts.
Microsoft Teams Copilot
Microsoft Teams, similar to other apps and Windows, is increasingly incorporating Copilot integration. This will facilitate the retrieval of meeting summaries, business concepts, and other information.
Introduction and release dates
The Microsoft Teams update will be available to Microsoft 365 Business and Teams Essentials subscribers by the end of October 2023, as per the Microsoft schedule.
