The latest feature in Canary’s 25967 Windows 11 preview for Insiders is the updated “Home” section design that includes interactive cards from the “Settings” app. These cards are designed to offer user-friendly information and controls.

Microsoft offers pre-designed cards that are deemed important for Windows administrators, although customization is also an option.

  • This card offers customization options for settings based on user-specific usage patterns, aiming to simplify configuration management and save time.
  • Cloud Storage: Offers information about utilizing storage space on OneDrive, Microsoft’s cloud-based storage service, including notifications when reaching storage limits.
  • The account recovery feature was developed by Microsoft to enhance security by allowing users to add extra recovery information to avoid losing access to their account in case they forget their password.
  • Customization involves modifying the background theme or adjusting the color mode of the operating system.
  • Microsoft 365 provides an overview of the status and advantages of its subscription, along with shortcuts for managing benefits.
  • Xbox: Similar to the Microsoft 365 card, you have the ability to view and control the Game Pass subscription status.
  • Bluetooth-enabled devices: Enables easy and fast connection to Bluetooth devices.

The system adapts based on the user’s preferences by analyzing the most frequently used functions as the user navigates the new “Home” section in the Settings app.

Introduction and accessibility

The Canary channel of the Windows Insider program is the first to test new OS features, so it may be a while before the update with “cards” in the “Settings” app reaches the stable version of Windows 11 for the public.
